1906-09-18 typhoon French Destroyer Fronde stranded

In the Hong Kong Cemetery near the Happy Valley Racecourse, the Obelisk Monument on the right is the monument to the sailors from the Fronde. A typhoon made a direct hit on Hong Kong in September 1906, resulting in over 10,000 deaths. The photograph shows the French Destroyer Fronde stranded in the harbour after the passage of the typhoon.
