1848-02-15 General D Aguilar 95th Regiment

Presenting The Colours, proving remarkably fine a numerous concourse of spectators assembled to witness the ceremony, ‘on the Parade Ground at the new Barracks’, and a little after four o’clock the regiment formed line at open order and received Major General D’Aguilar, CB, and staff. Major General D’Aguilar then rode forward, and having thanked the ladies for their kindness, addressed the Colonel, officers and men. D’Aguilar Street is a street in Central, Hong Kong. It is named after George Charles D’Aguilar (1784–1855), Major General and Lieutenant Governor of Hong Kong from 1843 to 1848.
