Gordon Smyth grew up surrounded by blue-blooded owners and horses bred in the purple.
Newmarket trainer Michael Jarvis worked for Smyth for two years in the sixties and led CHARLOTTOWN up on the day he won the Derby.
Gordon was a great golfer, he loved playing the game and he had a wonderful time in Hong Kong in the latter part of his career, where he was very successful.
