Father Of Rehabilitation
He was widely known as the “father of rehabilitation” in Asia.
Later in 1996, he was entitled to Knight Bachelor, and in 2001 granted the Grand Bauhinia Medal in recognition of his contribution to the public welfare, rehabilitation and social services.
1923-08-02, born in Nanjing, from Shou County, Anhui. His father General Fang Zhenwu is a famous hero in the Sino-Japanese War.
1948-07-10, he married his wife Lady Fang Ip Hung-cho.
1949, he graduated at the University of Hong Kong.
1953, he was qualified as an orthopaedic surgeon.
1959, he found The Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation and regarded as the Father of Rehabilitation.
1974, he became the Senior Chinese Unofficial Member of The Legislative Councils In Hong Kong.
1978-1983, he was the Unofficial Member of The Executive Councils In Hong Kong.
1983-1993, he was the Steward of HKJC.
1993, he became an Honorary Steward of HKJC.
2009-08-24, Professor Sir Harry Fang peacefully passed away at the age of 86.

As a gentleman of high virtue and integrity, Sir Harry was a great leader who had devoted his lifetime to the rights, welfare and health for the citizens in our community especially for those with special needs.
In the board of HKJC Stewards, he had established a strong infrastructure for his successors to promote and demonstrated clear directions in charity for his colleagues to follow.
