The Donnays have been involved as breeders and owners for three generations, , the business is spread over China, Hong Kong and overseas.

 

 

 

A Racing Family Integrating European, Asian and Australian Culture

 

Gilbert Donnay

 

1935, born in Tianjin of a French mother and a Belgian father.

 

His great-grandfather started the family racing interest by operating a stud in Spanish Morocco.

 

His grandfather raced horses in Tianjin.

 

His father raced horses in China and Hong Kong.

 

1940 onwards, he started to ride for fun and enjoyment.

 

During off-seasons, he used to ride all his father’s horses.

 

Gillbert Donnay‘s first language is Mandarin.

 

1948, left China for a brief staying in USA before settled down in Hong Kong.

 

He had business of textile, skincare luxury cosmetics and perfumes products.

 

2011-06-27 Gilbert Donnay aged 76, passed away at Mt Tamborine, Gold Coast, Australia.
