ALLENDORF, Geoff


 

Lean And Tough

 

1957-03-15 Geoff was born in the far north of Cairns, Queensland, Australia.

 

His family has racing background and his father was a jockey.

 

He went to Sydney at the age of 16 to begin his apprenticeship.

 

He won all of the lead-up races to the Golden Slipper Stakes.

 

 

Striking And Thinking

 

He had one experience riding overseas some years back spending three months on the Singapore circuit.

 

He gave up a highly promising career in Sydney to come to Hong Kong and ride.

 

1986, initially, as stable jockey for trainer Alex Wong Sui-tan.

 

MORNING PATROL was his best horse being ridden in the early days.

 

1987, he had a remarkably successful partnership with fellow Aussie Bruce Hutchison.

 

Both had great success by star griffin OUR TOY’s four wins.

1989, Allendorf moved to Macau and enjoyed numerous success.

 

He won the Macau champion jockey title three times.

 

Geoff hung up his boots in 1999 and in 2003 he came back to Macau as an assistant trainer.

 

2005, Allendorf was granted a full trainers license in Macau.

Geoff’s wife, Susan, also comes from a horse-racing family too.
